For those of you interested in marketing or advertising in Memphis, a great group to connect into is the AAF. Otherwise known as the Memphis Ad Federation, this group of marketers hosts lunches and other events that help to expand both your knowledge and your network. I have personally really enjoyed the AAF events.
On Thursday, October 24th, the Memphis AAF is hosting a luncheon. It will be held at the University of Memphis Holiday Inn with featured guest Rebecca Hargrove. Rebecca is the President and CEO of the Tennessee Lottery. She will be sharing about her experience about successfully advertising with social media.

There are often networking opportunities that aren’t just great for networking, but are fun too! Volunteer Mid-South is hosting a Pickleball Fun-Raiser on Sunday, October 20th. It’s inexpensive ($30) and for a good cause. This will be a great way to network and have a great time.
Here’s more information from their invitation: Join us on Sunday, October 20th from 5-9PM at Wellworx Sportsplex (6161 Shelby Oaks Drive) for a fun game of Pickleball. A $30 ticket includes food, 2 drinks and game play or spectator area. This is a fun, social event for all levels of play from novices to advanced. There will also be a great silent auction.

The National Black MBA Association is holding their annual conference in Houston, Texas this year September 10th-14th. If there’s any chance you will be in the area, I encourage you to go.
Although the entire conference is quite expensive, you can purchase a ticket to just the career fair at a greatly reduced rate. Even if you aren’t a NBMBAA member, they would love to have you. I’ve attended this fair before and found it very helpful.
Hundreds of large employers recruit at this event every year. Below is an awesome photo of their career fair in action. Just seeing it makes my heart beat with anticipation. I hope you’ll check it out.
