Networking Opportunity: Ignite Memphis

There’s a great networking opportunity that I highly recommend: Ignite. Ignite is a program that’s held in cities around the world. It allows locals to talk about something they’re passionate about – in a short time (~5 minutes or less). There is typically a networking event before and after the performance, so it’s a great opportunity to network, learn something new, and be entertained.

The event is scheduled for November 19th at Crosstown Arts. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 later. I’ve included additional details below. To get more information, or to purchase your tickets, visit their website here.

Enlighten us, but make it quick.

Your favorite night of enlightenment, entertainment, and beer is back. 12 presenters will have 5 minutes, 20 slides, and a lot to say. With topics as varied as the slides are creative, you’re guaranteed to learn (and laugh) more in two hours than you have all week.

And you thought slide shows were boring.

Undercurrent, along with Start Co., New Memphis Institute, and Orion Federal Credit Union, are thrilled to present Ignite Memphis, Vol. 6 on November 19, 2013 at Crosstown Arts.

Early Bird tickets are only $10 through October 31, then $15 through the night of the event. Doors open at 7:00 and the show starts promptly at 7:30.

Admission includes beer, wine, food, and all the enlightenment you can handle.

Networking Opportunity: Memphis Young Executives

I’m impressed with the Crescent Club for putting on their next networking event.  It’s being hosted by their Memphis Young Executives group, and will be on Tuesday, October 29th.

The networking event will feature complimentary hors d’oeuvres with a cash bar available.  But, most importantly there will be 15 high school juniors and seniors there to network.  They will be learning more about networking and enhancing their own skills by interacting with you.

The event is a partnership between the Crescent Club and FedEx.  I commend both groups for taking the time to help out these high school students.

Below is more information about the event.  Here’s a link to their Facebook invite.  Call 901.684.1010 to RSVP.

mYEX (Memphis Young Executives) and The Crescent Club are partnering with FedEx to bring you a very unique networking event. The FedEx Life Skills Team has been working with 15 Wooddale High School Juniors and Seniors to give them a little exposure, and taste, to what life will be like as a young business professional.

When you join us after work, the students will be there and ready to network with us and experience first-hand an important skill for a young professional. Since one of the most important networking skills is the exchange of contact information be sure to have your business cards handy!

This is a fantastic event and one that we are proud to be hosting along with the FedEx Life Skills Team – let’s keep training our local talent and inspiring them to keep Memphis growing!

Networking Opportunity: Women on the Move Lunch

The Crescent Club is a fantastic networking venue in Memphis.  If you are unfamiliar with it, the Crescent Club is a bit like a country club for business networking.  The best part is– even if you aren’t a member of the club, you can take advantage of many of their networking activities.

One of their networking groups is called Women on the Move.  WOM meets once a month for lunches that they host.  The lunches are a learning opportunity, and a chance to meet ambitious Memphis women.  They also occasionally host cocktail hours after work.

I strongly recommend checking them out, and here’s your chance.  They are hosting a lunch Friday, October 25th at the club.  It’s located near I-240 and Poplar.  The cost for non-members is $20.

Below is more information about the event. Here’s a link to their invitation on Facebook.  To RSVP, call the Crescent Club at 901.684.1010.

Featuring Debra | Jill Jewelry

Debra Lazarov and Jill Notowich aren’t just business partners, they grew up best friends, now sisters-in-law and successful business women. Join Women on the Move this month for an open ended discussion of how they became successful in a very crowded jewelry industry.

Each DEBRA| JILL jewelry design reflects something very personal. It represents an enthusiasm for texture, pattern and dimension, with a distinctive organic appeal that carries across our entire collection. Before we launched DEBRA| JILL, we spent years learning about jewelry construction, fabrication, and the highest quality methods of artisan craftsmanship.
