The Paralympic Games is seeking a Director of Communications.
The Director of Communications provides leadership support and strategic decision making on key public relations programs, events and issues. In addition to designing and coordinating U.S. Paralympics’ public information activities, the Director is the first point of contact for media relations, leads publication/video projects and manages a team of press officers for Paralympic Games and all other major events.
- Develop and implement U.S. Paralympics national public relations and media strategy to positively position Paralympic programs and athletes externally and integrate Paralympic programs with USOC divisions and external partners.
- Provide public relations advice and counsel on both routine and sensitive media and business issues. Initiate, respond to and implement special public relations projects as necessary.

Create and implement Paralympic Games public relations and broadcast strategy, including media/press relations staffing plan, in collaboration with USOC media.

Develop, create and implement Paralympic PR activation and PR opportunities to support athlete identification and recruitment initiatives, including the USOC Paralympic Veterans Program and partner organizations.

Correspond with and coordinate public relations services to U.S. Paralympics constituencies such as athletes, the news media, colleges/universities, the general public and state and government organizations.

Provide consultation and guidance to Paralympic National Governing Bodies, both internal and external, and high performance management organizations (as needed).

Represent the organization and make formal presentations on Paralympic topics to various Olympic Family constituents as needed.

Cultivate relationships with the International Paralympic Committee and support IPC-driven programs and initiatives as needed
