The University of Memphis is seeking a Director, Athletic Performance for Olympic Sports in Memphis, TN.
The Director, Athletic Performance for Olympic Sports supports the Director of Athletic Performance with the overall athletic performance programs for Olympic Sports. The Director assists the Director of Athletic Performance with the assignment of staff for specific sports, training times and facilities; with budget and equipment oversight; and with the general operation of the strength facility in the absence of the Director of Athletic Performance. The Director, Athletic Performance for Olympic Sports develops and monitors strength & conditioning programs for assigned varsity athletic teams; teaches and supervises proper lifting techniques and assists in spotting when necessary; assists in fitness testing, computation of results, and evaluation of individual athletes, including anthropomorphical assessment measures. The Director, Athletic Performance for Olympic Sports utilizes information concerning weight loss and weight gain in order to prescribe training programs that bring about desired results in body composition, strength, and muscular and cardiovascular endurance.
